V-Day
Hey Everyone, It has been awhile since my last blog because I was busy doing Trig homework day in and day out. I've got to tell you that Trig is a lot of work and is taking up most of my time. It is Valentines Day. Happy V-day to everyone who likes this day. I don't for several reasons. One my first job was at a party store in Richardson on which I got hired the day before Valentines Day and that just about killed me. All the balloon orders it was down right acinine. Second, I was only in for the candy on Valentines Day I never cared for the love portions of this redicoulus holiday. The only holidays I like are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Red Light Cameras
Hey everyone, I don't know if anyone has heard but according to what I heard on the news that the cities of Plano and Richardson are putting up red light cameras. Also Dallas is considering them as well. Garland already has red light cameras installed. In my opinion these red light camaras should be at every major intersection because the most accidents in Plano are caused by people running the light. To give you an example the intersection of Park and Preston in Plano was at one time was one of the most dangerous intersections in the United States. Just recently the city of Plano has made improvements to this intersection but it still is prone to accidents. they really need to install a red light cameras on Park and Preston but I heard it is a hassel to put red light cameras on state highways. I don't know why they don't install them on state highway intersections that have a history of causing accidents because of red light runners. I know these cameras are expensive to run but the tickets issued by using the cameras can be profitable for the city. They can use that money towards buying descent patrol cars for the police and also towards city maintenence. I would like to know everyone's opinion about this. I think this is a good thing towards traffic safety. I am looking forward to your comments. Current Mood: tired |

Quiz
Hey everyone, Well today in English I had to take a Literary terms quiz. I didn't know most of them but I guessed on some of them. At least I won't get a 0. I was too busy getting my first paper together which I am glad to say that I got it done yesterday. I am really bad about doing stuff at the last moment. Most of the time I am writing my paper at 9:00 at night getting frustrated as time passes and in my opinion I seem to write better in the morning than at night. I hope this semester that I will get my papers done right and a couple of days before its due so I can make revisions if I don't like something. Well that's all for now. Current Mood: tired |

Movies
Hey everyone, I have watched part of the movie Big Fish in English today. It is pretty good so far. I thought that this was one of those romantic films about someone who met their love of their life in some odd way and that was what the movie was about. But I was wrong. It does involve romance but their is more to the story. It is a about a man who grew up in a small town in Alabama and all of his magical ventures and how he met his love of his life. I find this movie quite interesting. Speaking of movies I think I am going to see that Underworld: Evolution movie this weekend. Has anyone gone to see it yet? Its supposed to be a sequel to Underworld. Its about a war between the vampires and warewolves I think. I will let y'all know if I like it. That's all for now. Current Mood:  hungry |

math class
Hey everyone, I have Triginometry after English from 10:00am to 11:15am. Well today we had a substitute teacher because our professor was out sick. Well this guy had no idea what he was talking about. He was just reading from the book and doing the examples from the book on the whiteboard. At first I was like okay I will just read along with him until we have to go but about thirty minuetes into class I saw someone leave. Then I thought well it doesn't make any sense why I should sit here and listen to someone read out of this book when I can do this at home. So at 11:00 am I left. I have never left before a class ended ever but this was redicoulus. I thought well I must do my livejournal entry and start work on my Research project. Then after that it is lunchtime. Movie
Hey Everyone, Today in English I am going to watch Big Fish. I never saw it in theaters because it did not interest me. All the reviews about this movie were excellent. People seemed to like it. Research Paper
Hey Everyone, I have finally chosen a book for my paper. Its Harry Potter and the Sourcer's Stone. Of all the six Harry Potter books the first one is still my favorite. I am going to try to get this paper done by the end of March so i won't be rushing to get it done at the last moment. I have a bad habit of putting stuff off until the last moment and this year I am going to break this habit I hope. |

Research Project
What's up everyone, A couple of days ago Dr. A.C. assigned us a Research Paper that is due at the end of the term. At first I was like wow another boring research paper with a pointless topic but when I learned that we were able to choose our own topic I was suprised. Of course we all know when we were in high school we had to do those absolutely pointless papers whose topics were either complicated or boring. But now in College we get to decide what topic our paper is about that is a sense of freedom that I didn't have in High School and I like it. You can probably assume now that I don't like research papers and that's true. The reason is is that everytime that I was assigned one it seemed like busy work to me. I am one of those people that just wants to learn the material required for the exams without all the "hands on" busy work that most teachers like. But ever since I got into college my view of projects changed because there wasn't any busy work to go along with it. Its the practice I need for the final exam. I am not a very good writer so I need all the practice I need. Besides I think I will do great because I finally got a good English teacher for once. Well thats all for now. Later! Introduction
Hey Everyone, I just want to introduce myself for those who don't know me. I say this because I took English Comp. 1 last semester. My name is Robert Strickland you can just call me Robert. ( Not BOB or Rob just Robert). Anyway I have been living in Texas my whole life. It all started when I was born in Dallas Texas on May 31 1984 just kidding I won't go that far back. I currently live in an apartment in Plano, TX. I can't tell you the name of the apartments I live in because I just don't want to. Haaaaa , Haaaa! I can tell you that I live with my dad. My mom lives in Whichita Falls TX which is northwest of here and it is a very boring town. I call it the stoneage. I have an older brother Nick that is currently living in the Houston area. He just got married about a week ago in Austin, TX to Heather which is now my sister in-law. Duh!!! Enough with my family lets talk more about me. I love to go to the movies. I go about once or twice a week depending on how much money I have and what's currently playing. I love to drive. Right now I can't drive very far because of money issues and the fact that my car is a piece of ****. Hopefully I will be able to get another car soon but I just don't have the money.
